Baqubah: A security detachment arrested a traveler in possession of a quantity of narcotic pills at the Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing, northeast of Baqubah, the capital of Diyala Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director of Media for the Diyala Police, Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, stated that the accused was attempting to smuggle the narcotic pills into the country. He indicated that the necessary legal measures have been taken against the accused, and that he has been referred to the competent judicial authorities to receive his punishment in accordance with the law.
