Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi have underscored the necessity of securing all essential supplies and preparations to ensure parliamentary elections occur as scheduled.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of Prime Minister al-Sudani released a statement after a meeting between the Prime Minister and Deputy Speaker al-Mandalawi. The discussion focused on the country’s general situation and regional developments, highlighting the need for unified efforts and positions amidst regional challenges and crises.
The statement further revealed that the meeting included discussions on enhancing cooperation between Iraq’s executive and legislative branches. This collaboration aims to pass legislation supportive of the government’s service and development programs. Both leaders stressed the importance of ensuring that parliamentary elections are conducted on time with broad public participation, reflecting the aspirations and choices of the Iraqi people for their representatives in the House of Representatives.
