Drug Trafficking Network Dismantled in Baghdad


Baghdad: Detachments from the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense on Wednesday dismantled a drug trafficking network in Baghdad.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate stated in a statement that detachments from the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate arrested a network involved in drug trafficking in one of the capital’s districts. Arrest warrants were issued against its members in accordance with Article 28 of the Narcotics Law.



The statement further revealed that narcotics and drug paraphernalia were seized from the network members, who were caught red-handed. The confiscated materials were taken as evidence, and the accused individuals have been referred for investigation.
