Basra: A sheikh from the Katarneh clan, Sheikh Ahmed al-Daftar al-Katrani, has been reported dead under mysterious circumstances in Basra.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Katrani was discovered strangled in his residence located in the Shatt al-Arab District of the Basra Governorate. The family is currently awaiting the results of a forensic report to determine the exact cause of death.
