Baghdad: Secretary-General of the Generations Gathering, MP Mohammed Saadoun Al-Sayhoud, has expressed concerns over the lack of centralization in the Parliament’s Presidency, attributing it to the chaos within its dome.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sayhoud explained in a press statement that the absence of consensus within the Parliament’s Presidency stems from a lack of coordination, duplication, and moodiness in conducting sessions. He noted that chaos is further exacerbated by certain members who are attempting to disrupt the oversight and legislative functions of the House of Representatives.

Al-Sayhoud highlighted significant issues within the Presidency, indicating that decision-making often lacks consensus. He pointed out that, in many instances, the Speaker of Parliament opts to return draft laws to the relevant committees for amendments. However, this approach is frequently challenged by the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, who insists on proceeding with the legislation without modifications.
