Basra: The Basra Police Command announced that a joint security force and the SWAT Regiment executed a special security operation aimed at one of the most dangerous drug dealers in the province.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation led to an exchange of fire with the accused, resulting in the deaths of two wanted drug dealers. Two members of the SWAT Regiment sustained injuries of varying severity and were transferred to the hospital for treatment. The Basra Police Commander, Major General Latif Abdul-Ridha Al-Saad, was present to oversee their health condition.

In a related context, the Minister of Interior made a phone call to the Basra Police Commander to inquire about the health of the injured officers. The Minister praised the courage of the force involved in the operation and acknowledged its ongoing efforts to combat drug-related issues.
