Sulaymaniyah: The Kurdistan Region Presidency stressed the importance of the rule of law, protecting Sulaymaniyah’s security and safety, and protecting citizens’ homes.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency issued a statement underscoring the necessity of maintaining the rule of law and safeguarding the security and stability of Sulaymaniyah. The statement highlighted the importance of preserving the lives and property of citizens, urging that all disputes and problems be resolved legally and without resorting to violence.

The Presidency extended its condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, expressing sympathy for their loss and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The statement came in the wake of clashes that erupted in Sulaymaniyah after the arrest of the head of the People’s Front Party, Lahur Sheikh Jangi, along with his brothers, Polad and Aso. Arrest warrants had been issued for the trio, leading to a raid on Jangi’s headquarters at the Lalzar Hotel in the Sarchinar neighborhood, located in the center of Sulaymaniyah.
