Baghdad: Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, has emphasized the crucial role of the Popular Mobilization Forces in safeguarding Iraqi national security.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim’s office released a statement underscoring the significance of the Popular Mobilization Forces as essential both strategically and security-wise for the nation. The statement highlighted the sacrifices made by the leaders and members of these forces in their fight against terrorism and reaffirmed al-Hakim’s unwavering support for their role in Iraq’s defense system.

Al-Hakim recalled his influential role in the establishment of the Popular Mobilization Forces Law in 2016, underscoring his continuous defense of the institution as a core pillar of Iraq’s defense infrastructure. The statement firmly rejected any rumors suggesting a change in al-Hakim’s stance on the Popular Mobilization Forces, their pivotal role, or the protection of their members’ rights, labeling such rumors as entirely untrue.
