Baghdad: The political assistant to the Secretary-General of the Badr Organization, Mohammed Naji Mohammed, announced that the organization is closely observing the upcoming sessions of the House of Representatives scheduled for next week. He expressed hope that lawmakers will act in accordance with the voters’ will by passing critical legislation, including amendments to the Popular Mobilization Forces Law and the Service Law, which are considered essential for Iraq’s security and defense.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mohammed stated that the Badr Organization appreciates the efforts of the Independent High Electoral Commission in verifying and auditing parliamentary candidates. He noted that excluding individuals involved in accountability, justice procedures, or integrity cases is a positive step towards maintaining the integrity of the legislative institution.

Mohammed emphasized the organization’s support for a fair judiciary to consider appeals from those excluded, highlighting the importance of justice and confidence in the electoral process. He expressed a desire for elections that enable dedicated Iraqis to serve and contribute to the country’s development and defense.

He reiterated the organization’s stance against any foreign interference or pressure in parliamentary affairs, asserting that Iraq’s parliament is a national institution that should remain independent from external influences. Mohammed insisted that only the Iraqi people have the authority to approve laws, without the involvement of foreign powers.
