Sulaymaniyah: Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani called for an end to the clashes in Sulaymaniyah, stressing that the recent escalation targets the region’s security and stability and must end as soon as possible to avoid further casualties.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barzani stated, “We call for an end to the clashes in Sulaymaniyah and are working to prevent bloodshed,” emphasizing that the current tension does not serve the region’s interests but rather poses a serious threat to its future security.

For his part, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani expressed his concern that this escalation could destabilize the region’s security, saying, “The tension in Sulaymaniyah targets the region’s security.”

Barzani said in a statement, “The tensions and clashes in Sulaymaniyah target the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.” He added, “Everyone must realize this and stop these clashes immediately, preventing the youth of this country from b
ecoming victims. Any problems or disputes must be resolved through legal means.”

He continued, “I am working with all parties to end these tensions and prevent bloodshed and violence.”

Sulaymaniyah witnessed clashes last night following the issuance of an arrest warrant for the leader of the People’s Front Party, Lahur Sheikh Jangi.
