Gaza strip: The Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Catherine Russell, stated that Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip are facing a catastrophic famine that requires an end to the debate and the immediate delivery of food aid.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in an interview with an American media network, Russell explained that children in Gaza have been suffering from severe food shortages for months, to the point that they lack the energy to cry. Russell confirmed that approximately 28 children, equivalent to an entire school class, have been losing their lives every day in the Strip since the beginning of the conflict.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) considered the famine on Sunday “the latest disaster to hit the Gaza Strip.” UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said, “The situation in Gaza is hellish in every way,” stressing that “denial of famine in Gaza is the most abhorrent expression of dehumanization.” Lazzarini emphasized the need for Israel to stop promoting a different narrative, allow humanitarian organizations to deliver aid without restrictions, and allow international journalists to report independently from Gaza.
