Baghdad: Baghdad International Airport administration denied, on Sunday, what was reported by some media outlets and social media sites regarding the hearing of gunfire inside the airport.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the airport administration stated in a statement that “the news circulated by some media outlets and social media sites regarding the hearing of gunfire at Baghdad International Airport is inaccurate and that these sounds may have been outside the airport perimeter.”

It added that “air traffic is continuing normally without any delay or interruption,” calling on the media to “exercise accuracy and caution in reporting news and obtain it from official sources.”
