Sulaymaniyah: The Kurdistan Region’s Foreign Relations Office announced the release of 25 young men from Sulaymaniyah Governorate who were detained in Libya after being arrested while attempting to illegally migrate across the Mediterranean.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the office indicated in a statement that procedures related to their return are underway, with the main challenge being the loss of their passports, which were confiscated by smugglers. Alternative transit documents have been provided to them in coordination with the Iraqi embassy in Tripoli.

The office noted that work is underway to complete travel arrangements to secure their return to the region as soon as possible.
