Nineveh: A security source in Nineveh Governorate reported today, Sunday, that the governorate witnessed 10 separate traffic accidents over the past 24 hours, resulting in 16 people being injured with varying degrees of severity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the accidents took place in various areas of the governorate, most notably on the main roads linking the left and right sides of Mosul, in addition to the Mosul-Baghdad Expressway, and several internal streets in the districts of Hamdaniya and Tel Keppe.

The source highlighted that the causes of these accidents included excessive speed, poor visibility due to weather conditions, and neglect of traffic rules by some drivers. Ambulance and civil defense teams responded swiftly to the accident sites, providing first aid to the injured before transporting them to Mosul hospitals for further treatment.

The source further noted that some of the injured have been discharged from the hospital after receiving necessary treatment, while others remain under medical observation, including those in critical condition.

The source urged all drivers to adhere to traffic regulations, avoid excessive speed, and regularly inspect their vehicles to reduce the occurrence of such accidents, which pose a direct threat to the lives of citizens.
