Baqubah: A foreign traveler was apprehended at the Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing in possession of a suspected narcotic substance. The arrest took place at the border crossing located northeast of Baqubah, the capital of Diyala Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security detachment, aided by police dog squads, carried out the arrest during routine inspection procedures. A security source reported that the individual was found with suspected narcotics, prompting immediate legal action. The traveler has been referred to the competent authorities for further investigation.
