Baghdad: The Council of Ministers has given initial approval to renew its decision No. (550) of 2025, which involves funding the salaries of employees in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq for the month of June. This decision follows several critical considerations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the decision stipulates that the committees mentioned in paragraphs Third and Fourth of the earlier decision must complete their work and submit signed reports to the Federal Council of Ministers within one week. Additionally, a team established under paragraph Two is tasked with calculating the federal treasury’s share of the region’s non-oil revenues in line with legal requirements. The regional government is expected to pay this share instead of the amount specified in paragraph Two/1 of the decision. The calculation method requires approval from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Federal Board of Supreme Audit.

Moreover, the Regional Government is mandated to ensure that oil companies in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq comply with delivering the produced oil as per the Federal General Budget Law and Cabinet Resolution No. (550) of 2025. The Cabinet, during its session today, also approved the draft Unified Sports Law, which has been reviewed by the Council of State, and will now be referred to the Council of Representatives in accordance with constitutional provisions.
