PM Al-Sudani Highlights Iraq’s Role as an Economic Corridor for Region and World

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has affirmed that the Development Road Project will position Iraq as a key economic corridor at both regional and global levels. Speaking at a tribal conference with sheikhs and dignitaries from Baghdad’s Karkh district, Al-Sudani emphasized the vital role of tribes in supporting the state, strengthening stability, and actively participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani highlighted that the government program prioritizes administrative and economic reforms along with the implementation of service projects across the provinces. He specifically pointed out that Baghdad has received the largest share of projects to compensate for years of neglect and terrorism.

Al-Sudani further noted that Iraq is currently witnessing over $100 billion in Arab and foreign investments. This surge in investment, along with the growing presence of major international companies, reflects confidence in Iraq’s investment environment. He stressed that development can only be achieved through enhanced security, the rule of law, combating corruption, and balanced engagement with the international community.
