Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani emphasized the significant role of academics as a scientific elite essential for addressing the challenges Iraq faces. He underscored their importance in building society and reinforcing citizenship values.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office announced that Al-Sudani met with Ali Maseer Yassin, the head of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, along with members of the Syndicate’s council. During the meeting, Al-Sudani welcomed the delegation and praised the contributions of academics in spreading knowledge and awareness, particularly among the youth, whom he described as Iraq’s wealth and future.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to utilize the expertise of academics to support the government’s vision and development plans within its executive program. He emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering cooperation and partnerships between professional syndicates, ministries, and state institutions.

Al-Sudani also noted the government’s support for professional and sectoral syndicates, which has been demonstrated by hosting their representatives in cabinet sessions and making decisions and recommendations that benefit their work and members.

Ali Maseer Yassin, the head of the Academics Syndicate, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his continuous support. He affirmed the Syndicate’s readiness to cooperate with government programs and contribute to efforts aimed at improving the country’s conditions.
