Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his concern about internal divisions and the undermining of the country’s unity, stressing that Tehran does not seek war with Israel or the United States.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in response to the government’s position on activating the trigger mechanism by the European Troika, Pezeshkian said: “My main concern, even before discussing the re-imposition of sanctions, which we naturally do not want to activate, is what is happening inside the country. My main concern is the chants and voices being raised that seek to undermine this emerging unity and cohesion that is just taking shape.”

Pezeshkian continued: “My fear does not stem from violent reactions or external threats; rather, my main fear stems from internal disputes, divisions, and conflicts that sometimes arise for trivial reasons. Enemies also covet these very conflicts.”

Regarding the possibility of renewed war against his country, Pezeshkian said: “We do not seek war, but if they want to invade, we will confront them forcefully. We do not want to fight, and we have said that from the beginning, but we are not afraid of war either. Our people have also proven that if war breaks out, internal cohesion and unity will be strengthened much more strongly.”
