PM Al-Sudani Directs Designated Areas for Street Vendors to Continue Business

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has issued directives to allocate specific areas for street vendors and informal shop owners whose businesses were recently displaced from popular markets. This initiative aims to provide these individuals with alternative spaces to continue their operations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office stated that the decision seeks to create regulated job opportunities by assigning locations that adhere to public safety norms and the Baghdad Municipality’s guidelines for setting up popular markets. These designated areas will be organized to ensure they do not encroach on public property, impede traffic, or violate civil defense standards.
