Baghdad: Iraq’s oil exports to the United States saw a significant decline last week, according to data released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Sunday. The EIA reported that Iraqi oil exports to the US fell by more than half during this period.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the EIA statistics revealed that US crude oil imports from ten major countries last week reached 5.69 million barrels per day, marking an increase of 250,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s total of 5.44 million barrels per day. However, Iraq’s contribution to these imports experienced a notable drop.

The data showed that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States amounted to 162,000 barrels per day, representing a decrease of 166,000 barrels per day from the previous week’s 328,000 barrels per day. This significant reduction highlights the fluctuating nature of Iraq’s oil exports to the US market.

The EIA’s statistics also highlighted that the largest volume of US oil imports last week orig
inated from Canada, followed by Mexico, Brazil, and Libya. Additionally, the US continued to import crude oil from other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Nigeria, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
