Baghdad: Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations, Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, engaged in discussions with the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, focusing on the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Moscow. The dialogue also encompassed the preparations for the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Russia, where he will participate in the Arab-Russian Summit slated for October 2025.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry issued a statement highlighting that during the meeting held at the Ministry’s headquarters, Bahr Al-Uloom emphasized Iraq’s commitment, as the current chair of the Arab Summit, to actively unify Arab positions. He underscored Iraq’s support for efforts promoting peace and stability on both regional and international fronts, while expressing his hopes for Russia’s success in hosting the summit.

The Russian ambassador, Elbrus Kutrashev, commended the success of the Arab Summit held in Baghdad. He remarked that the inaugural Arab-Russian Summit signifies a crucial advancement in fortifying Russian-Arab relations and enhancing mutual partnerships.

Both parties also examined regional and international developments. They affirmed the necessity of joint international efforts to maintain global stability and advocated for collective actions to ensure security and peace in the region and worldwide.
