Sulaymaniyah: The Ministry of Defense announced the explosion of a military projectile during training at the Third Military College – Sulaymaniyah.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a statement that the explosion occurred during the implementation of one of the shooting activities scheduled within the training curriculum of the Third Military College in Qara Jolan, Sulaymaniyah, for students of the 89th batch. The incident resulted in the injury of four college students.

The statement further noted that the injured students were immediately transferred to the hospital for necessary treatment. While three of the students recovered after receiving medical aid, the fourth student succumbed to his severe injuries and will be airlifted to Baghdad.

Following the incident, the Ministry of Defense has opened an urgent investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of the explosion. The investigation aims to take necessary measures to prevent a recurrence in the future and hold those responsible accountable.
