Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met today, Thursday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, Dr. Farsin Aghabakian Shahin. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the meetings of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level in its 164th regular session held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen fraternal relations between Iraq and Palestine. They also examined regional and international developments of common interest, with a focus on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the resulting humanitarian and political challenges.
The meeting further addressed Iraq’s welcome of the growing international recognitions of the Palestinian state. This recognition is being issued by an increasing number of countries around the world, supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and their cause.
