Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, received today, Saturday, a high-level delegation from the Iranian Ministry of Oil to discuss ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, and energy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Oil stated that the Iranian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Oil, Head of the Oil Pension Funds, Hossein Hossein Zadeh. The delegation also included Deputy Minister for Iraqi Affairs Abbas Beheshti, Acting Director General for Asia, Africa, and Oceania at the Ministry of Oil, Soleiman Qasemian, and Director General of the Dehloran Petrochemical Complex, Javad Kamari.

The statement further mentioned that the meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Basim Mohammed Khudair, focused on prospects for cooperation between Iraq and Iran in various energy sectors. Discussions were aimed at exploring ways to further develop bilateral relations in the interests of both neighboring countries.
