Baghdad: The Ghadan Risk Management Foundation confirmed that the “Baghdad International Energy Forum” is a sustainable platform for dialogue between producers and consumers. The Foundation’s Chairman, Abbas Radhi, emphasized during the official opening of the forum in Baghdad that the event is not merely a passing dialogue or protocol. Instead, it serves as a sustainable platform for dialogue and joint action, reflecting Iraq’s mission to be a bridge between producers and consumers, development ambitions, and sustainability imperatives.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Abbas Radhi articulated Iraq’s broader vision during the forum. He stated that Iraq views itself not just as an oil and gas exporter, but as a responsible actor striving to balance national interests with the requirements of the global energy system. Radhi expressed the goal for the forum to become a permanent institutional tradition, where shared visions are formulated, and practical partnerships are built to address challenges of energy security and transition. Radhi highlighted the historical significance of the moment, recalling that sixty-five years ago, Baghdad was the cradle of OPEC’s founding. Today, it seeks to reclaim its role as a cradle for a new, more comprehensive, and sustainable dialogue.
