Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani emphasized the significance of adhering to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad while cautioning against those who incite sedition for personal gain. During a celebration of the Prophet’s birthday at Umm Al-Qura Mosque in Baghdad, organized by the Sunni Endowment Office, Al-Sudani highlighted the Prophet’s mission of building individuals, promoting justice and equality, and establishing a fair society and state.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani’s speech underscored the importance of following the Prophet’s ethical and moral guidance. He urged citizens to apply these teachings to serve the community and protect citizens’ interests without discrimination or favoritism. The Prime Minister warned that deviating from the Prophet’s path and heeding those who spread sectarian strife and falsehoods could lead to instability, hatred, and violence. He emphasized that serving the people, enhancing security, and improving quality of life are central elements of the Prophet’s teachings.
Al-Sudani also highlighted the importance of safeguarding integrity, strengthening state institutions, and enforcing the law impartially. He stated that these are foundational to social unity and the protection of the nation’s higher interests, asserting that a strong state is crucial for overcoming challenges and achieving development.
He addressed the detrimental effects of divisions within the Islamic nation, which have resulted in chaos and aggression against regional countries like Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Afghanistan. Al-Sudani warned about the role of those who incite strife and spread falsehoods in fueling conflicts.
The Prime Minister concluded by affirming that Iraq enjoys security and stability, attributing this to the sacrifices of martyrs and the solidarity among its diverse communities.
