Baghdad: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has called for the establishment of an Islamic military alliance, emphasizing the need for a collective response to recent Israeli actions in Gaza and Qatar. Sudani highlighted that these actions pose a significant threat to regional security, urging a unified stance among Muslim nations.
According to TRTworld.com, Sudani condemned Tuesday’s air strike on Doha, which resulted in the deaths of five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer. He described the airstrike as a shocking violation of international law, reiterating the necessity for Arab and Islamic countries to establish a comprehensive political, security, and economic partnership to defend against such threats.
The attack targeted a residential compound where Hamas leaders were in discussions about a US proposal to end the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The conflict has led to the loss of more than 64,800 Palestinian lives since October 2023.
