Gaza city: The Israeli army announced today the opening of a temporary transit route through Salah al-Din Street in Gaza City, aimed at facilitating the movement of civilians southward.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the army explained in an official statement that this safe corridor will be available for 48 hours only, starting at 12:00 PM today, September 17, 2025, and closing at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2025. The designated route takes residents via Salah al-Din Street, passing through Wadi Gaza towards the south.
The statement further emphasized the necessity for residents to adhere strictly to the lanes marked in yellow on the distributed maps and to comply with instructions from security forces and traffic signs to ensure a safe transit.
On the preceding day, the Israeli army declared it had initiated operations to dismantle Hamas infrastructure within Gaza City. It also issued a warning to residents about the dangers of remaining in the area, urging civilians to move immediately to the southern regions of Wadi Gaza via Rashid Street, using either foot or vehicle for their travel.
