IHEC Confirms Half of Ballot Papers Printed for November Elections


Baghdad: The Independent High Electoral Commission announced on Saturday that 50% of the ballot papers for the parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on November 11 have been printed.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, commission spokesperson Jumana Al-Ghalay stated that the number of ballot papers allocated for general voters has reached 22,046,200, while 1,509,300 are designated for special elections. Additionally, reserve papers have been approved to meet the operational needs for the electoral phase.



Al-Ghalay further explained that the ballot papers are being printed in compliance with strict security standards. These include hidden security marks, specialized inks detectable only by specific devices, and features designed to prevent unauthorized copying. The paper used is specially manufactured, incorporating marks similar to those found in banknotes, along with additional secret marks to ensure the integrity of the vote.



She also noted that the production of these papers in the UAE has reached 50%, indicating substantial progress towards preparing for the upcoming elections.
