Kirkuk: A government committee has arrived from Baghdad to Kirkuk Governorate, led by Lieutenant General Sami al-Sudani, the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Ports and Customs Affairs. The committee’s presence is in response to ongoing protests and objections from truck drivers.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee proceeded to the Jemen checkpoint on the Kirkuk-Sulaymaniyah road. Their task is to address concerns related to security and administrative checkpoints. This initiative follows a request from Governor Rebwar Taha, aiming to engage with relevant authorities to find a resolution to the situation.
There is an expectation that the Minister of Interior will make an appearance to further assess and address the ongoing issues.
