The PM Confirms All Requirements Met for Success of New School Year


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani stressed on Sunday the importance of providing all the necessary requirements to ensure the success of the new 2025-2026 academic year, reaffirming the government’s support for the education sector and the teaching community.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from his media office said that Al-Sudani visited Al-Sadrain Secondary School for Distinguished Students in Sadr City, east of Baghdad, where he attended the flag-raising ceremony and recited Al-Fatiha in honor of Iraq’s martyrs, in the presence of the Minister of Education. He also rang the school bell to officially mark the start of the new school year.



Al-Sudani congratulated students and educators across Iraq on the beginning of the academic year, describing it as ‘a new chapter that signals the start of a national renaissance, as the country witnesses development, reconstruction, and improved services, along with progress in education and state-building.’



The Prime Minister affirmed that the government, through the Ministry of Education, will continue to provide all possible support to ensure the success of the academic year. He noted that what is offered to teachers is not merely a gesture of appreciation but a recognition of their vital role in shaping society and building the state. He also highlighted the government’s commitment to completing key infrastructure and education-related projects.



Al-Sudani urged students to pursue excellence, focus on their studies, respect their teachers, and pay attention to the curriculum. He emphasized that he receives outstanding students every year and will honor a new group of top achievers at the end of this academic year.
