Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces arrested 19 suspects under various legal provisions, including foreigners, in the Rusafa area. The Command stated in a statement: “Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out ‘surprise’ security operations that resulted in the arrest of 19 suspects under various legal provisions, including 11 foreigners, for violating the regulations of the Department of Residency and Citizenship. Unlicensed weapons and ammunition were also seized in the areas of (Al-Kamaliya, Al-Riyasah/Al-Ubaidi neighborhood, Bismayah, and Al-Zafaraniya) in the Rusafa area.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests were part of a targeted effort to uphold security and legal standards in the area. The operations were described as ‘surprise’ actions, indicating a strategic approach to apprehending individuals involved in illegal activities. Among those arrested, 11 were identified as foreigners who were found to be in violation of residency and citizenship regulations. Additionally, the operations led to the seizure of unlicensed weapons and ammunition, highlighting the ongoing efforts to address illegal arms possession in the region.
