Erbil Completes Oil Export Commitments, Awaits Baghdad’s Signature

Erbil: The Kurdistan Region's Ministry of Natural Resources announced that it has fulfilled all its commitments regarding the export of the region's oil in coordination with the Federal Ministry of Oil, in line with the recommendations and decisions of the Council of Ministers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry stated that all local and foreign companies involved in the oil sector have signed the tripartite agreement. However, one foreign company has not yet completed its signature. The ministry emphasized that this does not affect the validity of the agreement between the region, the companies, and the Federal Ministry of Oil.

The ministry further noted that it is awaiting a response from the Federal Ministry of Oil to formally finalize the agreement. This finalization would enable the State Oil Marketing Organization (SOMO) to begin exports and implement all terms of the deal as soon as possible.
