Lattakia: The Syrian Civil Defense announced that it had brought under control a fire at the Saladin Citadel and the surrounding forests in the Al-Haffa area in Lattakia countryside, noting that the fire had entered the cooling and monitoring phase, with ongoing monitoring of the situation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Syria TV quoted the Director of the Civil Defense in Lattakia, Abdul Kafi Kayyal, as saying that the Civil Defense teams at the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management dealt with several separate fires in the area, but that the Saladin Citadel fire was the most difficult of them.

Kayyal indicated that the efforts to extinguish the fire took more than six continuous hours.
