Baghdad: Iranian media reported, early Saturday morning, that “the death sentence was carried out against six members of a separatist terrorist network collaborating with Israel,” after they were convicted of planning and carrying out bloody operations in Khuzestan Province, southwest of the country, including the assassination of four security personnel and a bombing in the city of Khorramshahr.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Judicial Information Center explained that the sentence was carried out after completing all legal procedures and being approved by the Supreme Court. The convicts were found guilty of a series of armed attacks and bombings targeting the security of the province.

The statement detailed that the six individuals were involved in the assassination of members of the Internal Security Forces and security guards. They also confessed to planning sabotage operations, including planting explosive devices, bombing a gas station, and carrying out attacks on banks, military centers, and mosques, as reported by the Iranian Fars News Agency.

The Iranian authorities further added that the defendants were in direct contact with Israel and received support from hostile foreign entities. Their activities posed a recurring threat to the security and stability of Khuzestan Province over the past years.
