Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi engaged in discussions regarding the country’s general situation and political developments with former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi. This meeting took place at Al-Mandalawi’s guest house on Monday evening.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Al-Mandalawi’s media office revealed that the discussions focused on the national scene’s ongoing political developments. Al-Mandalawi emphasized the urgency for a sincere and inclusive dialogue among political forces, especially given the significant challenges and threats facing the region. He highlighted the need for a comprehensive national vision that reflects Iraq’s position and the aspirations of its citizens while safeguarding the country’s paramount interests and ensuring its security and stability.

Additionally, Al-Mandalawi underscored the importance of the upcoming parliamentary elections, calling for collective cooperation to guarantee fair competition. He stressed the necessity of establishing a secure and transparent electoral environment to bolster citizens’ confidence in the democratic process.
