Baghdad: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid congratulated the Yezidis community on the occasion of al-Jama’iyi (Eda Hechiya), emphasizing his support for them to overcome challenges, circumstances, and the wounds of the past.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Gathering and Feast of Seven Days, known as al-Jama’iyi and referred to as ziyaret, ‘the pilgrimage’, lasts seven days between October 6th and the 13th of October. It is a sacred time when all Yezidis attempt to make the pilgrimage to Lalish in order to unite as one people at their holiest shrine.
