Baghdad: A joint security force executed an operation in the Maita sector, located on the border separating the provinces of Diyala and Salah al-Din.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security source reported that the operation was supported by intelligence detachments and involved searching the northern and eastern parts of the Maita Basin. This area is strategically positioned on the border between Diyala and Salah al-Din and extends into the geographically complex regions leading to Hawi al-Azim.

The operation’s objectives were to prevent any potential activity by sleeper cells and to strengthen security control over the area. Additionally, the operation aimed to reinforce logistical support routes and secure several liberated villages in the region.
