Basra: Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq bin Fawzan, arrived today in Basra Governorate, accompanied by the Chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Commission, Sami Al-Masoudi. The visit aims to enhance cooperation and coordination in Hajj and Umrah affairs and facilitate services provided to Iraqi pilgrims and Umrah performers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Saudi Minister was received by Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani and a number of local officials. The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation, ways to develop logistical services, and facilitate the movement of pilgrims through Iraqi ports.

During the meeting, the Basra Governor stressed the local government’s keenness to support joint efforts that contribute to serving pilgrims and Umrah performers. He praised the fraternal relations between Iraq and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the significant role played by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in organizing the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
