Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with Bafel Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, to address the nation’s situation and emphasize the importance of a unified national stance to preserve political and security stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Office released a statement confirming the meeting and the topics discussed. Key points included the need for unity in national discourse and strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing political and security stability. The leaders also focused on implementing plans to boost economic, developmental, and service sectors, while improving cooperation between the federal and Kurdistan Regional Governments. This dialogue is particularly crucial following a recent agreement on the region’s oil export.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the upcoming parliamentary elections set for next month. The leaders stressed the importance of creating favorable conditions to ensure successful elections and widespread participation, reflecting the true aspirations of the Iraqi people.
