Baghdad: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al Sudani reaffirmed on Saturday the government’s commitment to supporting the country’s security and stability and respecting all opinions and viewpoints. He noted that several research and study centers do not reflect the true image of Iraq because they rely on unofficial sources of information.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al Sudani received a group of expatriate Iraqi researchers working in various international research institutions. He stressed the importance of strengthening communication and dialogue between the government and think tanks, highlighting the vital role of researchers in shaping events, analyzing developments, and providing informed perspectives to support decision-makers.

The statement added that the meeting addressed several key issues, including regional developments, the agreement on Gaza, Iraq’s regional and international role, and its relations with Arab countries, Russia, and China. It also touched on the latest developments in Iraq’s relations with the United States and Iran, as well as the government’s efforts to enforce state control over weapons.

Discussions also covered the government’s economic plans, banking reforms, infrastructure and reconstruction projects, including the Development Road project and its related initiatives. The meeting further reviewed the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Region in light of the recent agreement, Iraq’s water file with Turkey and Iran, and the issue of Khor Abdullah.

The statement concluded that the meeting also discussed the importance of broad public participation in the upcoming elections, the relationship between the executive and legislative branches, the situation of Iraqi communities abroad, and the government’s ongoing efforts to reconstruct Sinjar.
