Baghdad: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have announced the arrest of Abdul-Razzaq Hasaj Auda, a prominent former leader of the banned Baath Party. The operation, executed with precision by the PMF’s Intelligence and Information units, followed weeks of careful surveillance. It was conducted under the direct orders of Mohammed Shia Al Sudani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and supervised by PMF Chief of Staff Abdul Aziz Al-Muhmdawi, also known as Abu Fadak.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF stated that the detainee was actively involved with the former regime’s repressive apparatus. He reportedly committed crimes against civilians, including the execution of four siblings, and maintained connections with underground Baathist elements aiming to destabilize the country.

The PMF’s statement highlighted that this operation underscores the vigilance of Iraq’s security agencies and serves as a warning to those attempting to revive Baathist ideology. Furthermore, families of victims are encouraged to file official complaints to aid in the trial process of the detainee.

The PMF reiterated its dedication to safeguarding Iraq and its citizens from the remnants of the former regime and any threats to the nation’s unity.
