Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reported during a government meeting on Sunday about an official invitation from Egypt for President Masoud Pezeshkian to attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit. However, it was decided that President Pezeshkian will not participate in the summit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the invitation was then extended to Foreign Minister Araghchi, allowing him to represent Iran at the summit. The decision reflects the Iranian government's current diplomatic approach towards its participation in international events.
