Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed that democratic construction in Iraq is moving towards achieving all requirements with the participation of all.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from his media office indicated that al-Sudani had received an official delegation from the Swiss Confederation on Thursday. The delegation included Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and President of the Swiss National Council Maja Rinnicker, alongside the Swiss Ambassador to Iraq. The discussions centered on the overall bilateral relations between Iraq and Switzerland and explored ways to enhance cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting, al-Sudani highlighted the current urban and economic developments in Iraq, describing them as unprecedented. He invited Swiss companies and international financial institutions to actively contribute to the development partnership. Additionally, he advocated for the formation of a bilateral private sector council between Iraq and Switzerland to capitalize on opportunities presented by the Development Road project.

Al-Sudani also highlighted Iraq's triumph over terrorism and the subsequent establishment of stability and security. He reiterated Iraq's principled stance on regional conflicts, with particular reference to the aggression against Gaza. He emphasized that Iraq's democratic development aims to achieve all entitlements, involving every segment and spectrum of society.

Members of the Swiss delegation commended the Iraqi government's efforts to consolidate stability and prevent the spread of conflicts in the region. They also acknowledged Iraq's remarkable economic progress and the acceleration of development, which they believe enhances Iraq's international standing and consolidates its pivotal role in addressing regional challenges.
