Ankara: Turkish Defense Minister, Yasar Gler, has called for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and its affiliated groups to surrender their weapons immediately and unconditionally. Gler emphasized the importance of ceasing all terrorist activities both within Turkey and beyond its borders.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Gler made these remarks during the opening of a defense industries conference held in the central province of Konya. He highlighted the significance of the PKK’s recent decision on October 26 to dissolve itself and withdraw from Turkish territory, describing it as a critical step towards enhancing the peace process and its effectiveness.
Gler stressed the necessity for all factions and affiliated groups of the PKK, operating under various aliases, to end their armed actions promptly. He assured that Ankara is vigilantly observing the situation and is committed to taking all necessary actions to safeguard the nation and its citizens.
Previously, on May 12, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party declared its disbandment and disarmament following a directive from its founder, Abdullah ‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬¦€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦€š¬…€œcalan, who is currently serving a life sentence in Turkey.
