Minister of Interior Discusses Bilateral Cooperation with Swedish and Finnish Officials


Baghdad: Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari has emphasized Iraq’s dedication to enhancing its international relations and engaging with global expertise in capacity building and security development.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry released a statement noting that Al-Shammari met with Swedish Charg© d’Affaires J¶rgen Lindstr¶m at his office on Wednesday. They explored ways to boost bilateral cooperation and discussed the activation of the comprehensive security memorandum of understanding, which was signed during Al-Shammari’s visit to Stockholm on October 10.



In a separate meeting, Al-Shammari also met with Finnish Ambassador to Iraq, Antti Putkonen. Their discussions focused on mutual interests, particularly the advancement of security cooperation between Baghdad and Helsinki.



During both meetings, Al-Shammari reiterated Iraq’s commitment to establishing international partnerships aimed at strengthening the capabilities of its security institutions and promoting stability.
