Al-Sudani Emphasizes Duty to Safeguard Electoral Process and Stability

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani has emphasized the importance of ensuring a secure and stable environment for the electoral process, urging protection against any potential violations or influences.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement directed at security and military forces, Al-Sudani congratulated them for exercising their constitutional rights and actively participating in the elections. He highlighted the importance of selecting representatives for the upcoming Parliament as a key democratic exercise.

Al-Sudani reiterated the national duty to maintain a safe electoral environment, crediting the current security and stability to the awareness, discipline, and sacrifices of the forces. He called upon security personnel to uphold the trust bestowed by the citizens, making the election day a testament to their awareness and loyalty to Iraq.

He encouraged the forces to exemplify discipline, commitment, and the defense of citizens' rights to participate in the democratic process. Al-Sudani concluded with a call for divine protection over the armed and security forces, a remembrance of the sacrifices of martyrs, and a prayer for the protection of Iraq and its people.
