Al-Sudani Highlights Government’s Commitment to Security and Stability

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed that the government has prioritized strengthening security and stability. His media office stated in a press release that Prime Minister Al-Sudani received on Sunday the head of the Syriac Catholic Church in Mosul and its surrounding areas, Archbishop Mar Benedictus Younan Hanno, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Parliamentary Rapporteur Bidaa Khader.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Sudani affirmed that the Christian community in Iraq is an integral part of the country and enjoys the respect and appreciation of all. He highlighted its important role in consolidating coexistence and peace, as it is an inseparable part of the social fabric, and its work towards societal unity and cultural diversity.

He pointed out that the government has prioritized strengthening security and stability and preserving peaceful coexistence among all segments of the Iraqi people through its program that protects the rights of all communities, including the Christian community.

For their part, the members of the delegation expressed their appreciation to the Prime Minister, praising his proposals and the government's steps in promoting peaceful coexistence among all Iraqis, and the positive developments Iraq has witnessed in various fields over the past three years.
