Baghdad: The head of the Security Media Cell, Lieutenant General Saad Maan, confirmed the smooth conduct of the general voting process for the parliamentary elections, emphasizing that all polling centers are secured without any security breaches.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Maan stated, “We have not recorded any security breaches so far at any polling center in any of Iraq’s governorates.” He highlighted the smooth flow of traffic and citizens and the facilitation of voter access to polling centers, while stressing the prohibition of any interference by personnel with the voters’ will.

Maan emphasized the presence of sufficient security forces to secure the polling centers, including army, police, and other security agencies, with three security perimeters, in addition to reserve forces and civil defense personnel for emergencies.

Lieutenant General Saad Maan confirmed that the High Security Committee for Elections is closely monitoring the electoral process. He mentioned in a press conference that the security situation is stable and all matters related to the electoral process are reassuring, with preparations reaching full readiness.

He added that the security situation is normal and there are no disruptions during the electoral process, with voter turnout at polling stations currently increasing.
